Comptoir Libanais expands to Bluewater

Comptoir Libanais, the Lebanese-inspired canteen and delicatessen created by Tony Kitous, is to open its first restaurant outside London at Bluewater, Europe’s leading retail, leisure and events destination.

Comptoir Libanais’ 3,132 sq ft restaurant is situated on Bluewater’s lower Thames Walk, at the entrance to the entertainment dining-themed Plaza, and will open in time for Christmas.
 
Commenting on the news, Guy Thomas, head of retail leasing at Lend Lease, said: “Comptoir Libanais is the latest leading brand to choose Bluewater as the first location for their expansion out of London.  Their offer is quite distinct and complements the existing line-up in the Plaza, where the emphasis is on entertainment and the theatre of food.”
 
Tony Kitous, founder of Comptoir Libanais, added: “Bluewater was the obvious choice for our expansion out of London.  It is a high quality environment with a very strong reputation for the quality and success of its diverse dining offer.  That so many other innovative brands have selected Bluewater made our decision even easier.”
 
Comptoir Libanais joins Wahaca, Balans, Tapas Revolution, Tossed, Wasabi, Tortilla, Lolas Cupcakes, Byron and Côte in choosing Bluewater for their first restaurants outside London or in the South East.  They also bring the total number of new brands to commit to Bluewater this year to 30 which, combined with the 21 brands that have invested in new store or restaurant designs, equates to 180,000 sq ft of new or enhanced space in time for Christmas this year.
